Come and see what may well be the largest roll-off roof observatory you have ever seen! The Jim & Gwen Plunkett Observatory is a 16' x 24' roll-off roof, complete with a patio that doubles the footprint of the building. Built by Backyard Observatories, it's the largest installation the company has done to date. Light snacks will be provided. |

Show off your photos of all things astronomical! The categories include Solar System, Deep Sky, Atmospheric & Comets, as well as less common categories such as Mosiacs, Light Pollution and Public Outreach. All you need is a camera, digital or film, to take pictures for this contest. Download the rules and entry form, bring your photos with you to NCRAL 2008 and enter them when you arrive. |

Think you have what it takes? Test your knowledge of all things astronomical. Compete for the title of NCRAL 2008 Astronomy Guru! The contest will run Friday night and all day Saturday. It will be computer-scored and there will be a 10-minute time limit. You'll need to bring your "A-game" for this one! |
